Uptime is one of the most important variables affecting your website. If your site is frequently down or inaccessible, it not only means that your visitors can’t see it, but also gives them the impression of unreliability. To address this, we not only use high uptime servers located in dedicated datacenters across the UK and Europe, but we also actively monitor both your site and the status of our servers.

Comprehensive Security for Your Site

The security of your site is paramount, and we follow the philosophy that prevention is the best medicine. In addition to the healthchecks we perform on your site on a regular basis, we also keep on top of the latest security updates to the software your site runs, so you don’t have to.
We review each security update before applying it, and take backups of any databases before applying them. In addition we also provide advice on best practices for usernames and passwords, payment gateways, and other security aspects.

Basic Security

As we don’t offer databases, shopping carts, or content management systems on the Red Package, this package is covered by basic security steps such as password vigilance and yearly reviews of any scripts or code on the site.

Regular Security

For our other services, we offer increased security, including regular review and upgrades of your content management system, shopping cart software, any plugins, payment gateway solutions, and other code (where applicable).
For larger sites with multiple users we will assist with User Role management.

Other Security

We offer additional security services which complement the above, such as SSL certificates, which are available as part of our bolt-on extras.

Full Backup of Your Site

We provide a full backup of all your website data to protect against data loss, and to provide protection against inadvertent changes or malicious attacks against your site. The backup schemes offered are as follows:

Daily Backup

This is our most basic backup scheme, and is only offered on the Red Package.

  • We take a full backup of the website data every day. This overwrites the previous daily backup.

30-Day Rolling Backup

This is our most standard backup scheme for all packages except Red.

  • We take a full backup of the website data, including any databases, every day. Each backup is held for a maximum of 30 days, providing a safeguard against any inadvertent changes to your site. This is especially useful for sites with Content Management Systems.

Other Backups

We offer a range of additional backup schemes which complement the above, which are available as part of our bolt-on extras.

Health Check

All of our Web Management packages come inclusive with a yearly website health check.
Health checks are vital for ensuring that your site is running at its best and contains no errors which could disrupt a visitor’s experience.

Yearly health checks come in two flavours, Basic (for Red, Green and Blue packages), and Full (for Silver, Gold and Custom packages).

Basic Health Check

The basic health check covers the fundamentals for ensuring that your site is friendly and accessible.

  • We will check the link structure throughout the site, ensuring there are no broken links or images. This is vital for making the site functional to visitors and search engines.
  • We will check the formatting of your site in all current major browsers, to ensure that the vast majority of visitors see the site at its best.
  • We will check that the XML sitemap and HTML sitemap (if applicable) are working correctly.
  • We will check that the site loads correctly and quickly.
  • We will check that the main pages of the site and the main stylesheet conform to W3C standards.
  • We will make sure that all software used on the site, such as galleries and blogs, have the latest security updates and patches.

Full Health Check

The full health check covers everything that the basic health check covers, plus the following:

  • We will check that all site pages, including blogs, dynamic product pages, and newsfeeds (if applicable) conform to W3C standards.
  • We will check that all stylesheets throughout the site conform to W3C standards.
  • We will generate new sitemaps for XML and HTML (if applicable) to ensure they are completely up to date.
  • We will perform a mini-healthcheck based on the basic healthcheck halfway through the year to ensure optimum ongoing site health.

Bolt-Ons

Bolt-Ons are additional features that allow you to customise our packages to better enhance the areas that you need. Building on top of the flexibility and core services offered by our range of packages, Bolt-Ons can be applied to any package, limited only by the web space and bandwidth each package offers. We are happy to advise on how different Bolt-Ons can be best integrated with your package.

With Bolt-Ons, you can:

  • Add More Email Accounts – Additional email accounts above the five offered with each package: £35 per block of 5 email accounts.
  • Add More Domain Names – Additional domain names can be added to your account for £20 per domain for .com/.co.uk/.eu domain names. We can also offer great deals on all European and Asian domain names if required. (subject to domain availability)
  • Transfer a Domain Name – If you already have a registered domain name then you will need to transfer it to us so we can manage it as part of the Web management package. Our cost of transferring your registered domain name is included in the price of the Web management package, subject to our Terms & Conditions. This does not cover any transfer charges raised by your current provider. We will guide you through the transfer process.
  • Protect Your Email Inbox – Virus and spam protection stops threats and unwanted emails before they reach your inbox. We manage your whitelists and blacklists so you can control which emails you receive. £50 per block of 5 email accounts.
  • Increase Your Diskspace – Increase the amount of storage space on your website for files, emails, and databases (content management).£40 per GB of storage.
  • Enhance Your Web Site Backup – Increase the standard backup protection of your website.
    • Rolling 30-day Backup – We take a full backup of the website data, including any databases, every day. Each backup is held for a maximum of 30 days, providing a safeguard against any inadvertent changes to your site. Included free on Green and above. Available on Red Package for £75
    • Archival Backup – Improves on the protection of the 30-day rolling backup by keeping a backup from each calendar month in archival for the full calendar year. £150

Bolt-Ons are additional to the cost of the Web Management package and will be billed at the same time as your Web Management payment. Bolt-Ons added during a package term are charged pro-rata to the nearest calendar month, and will be billed at the next Web Management package renewal date.
